Surgery Day

so here we are seven months after Sydnie's first round of sickness and finally the tonsils are coming out. She has been sick every month since march and the pharmacist has become my best friend. We checked in this morning at 7am and Sydnie was excited to be there, only until they finally told her she would have a "straw" in her arm that allowed them to put medicine into her body without getting shots. Now Sydnie is too smart and knew that they were going to stick a needle in her arm, but she did okay with it once we told her it was not the size of "straw" you would drink a slurpee out of. She was so brave and really came through the surgery without any complications. The actual procedure lasted 30 minutes and recovery was only about an hour and half. She has eaten one bowl of ice cream so far and taken some pain medication. We have movies on hand and lots and lots of popsicles. Thanks to all of our friends who have been praying for the situation, we felt every prayer today. So for now life is good. we will see how tonight goes.

Look at her, she can even make surgery scrubs look cute! I am glad it was a quick and successful surgery! I hope that today and tomorrow are easy recovery days for her! sending my prayers!
