Recovery 101

Since it has been a week since syd was diagnosed with pnuemonia it is about time she started feeling better. On monday we decided that she was feeling okay and that we would try school, so that I could work too. We all went in at 9am, but by 10:45 both of my kids were in the office with fevers and complaining that they did not feel good.

Let me preface this with the fact that last friday we took noah into the doctor to check for pnuemonia since he had woke up with a fever and said his chest hurt, but of course by the time we got there he was miraculously recovered and they sent us home with our heads hanging in shame and a bill of $200!!! (they checked syd too and told us she was recovering nicely)

So we entered the new week with the thought that she was going to be just fine, now we land back at monday morning. Now luckily the doctors office had called me early monday morning to check in with me and had told me that if she was not doing better today, they wanted to see her again!! So we went directly there as soon as we left school and saw her doctor. He reaffirmed what I was thinking, in that she was not getting better. Her cough was looser now, but she still had a fever and no appetite. So he decided to start her on a second antibiotic that would hopefully once and for all kick this. And once he found out we had brought noah in on friday, he instantly said he wanted to treat him too. THE DOCTOR ACTUALLY LISTENED TO ME!!! Does that ever happen??? I was so happy I did a little happy dance right there in the office. and to make matters even better, when we arrived at target to get our drugs, they were ready!!!! Does that ever happen???

So by wednesday syd was back at school part time, I was able to work, since all my family sick days have been used my kids will have to go to school if they like it or not!!! lol. But the best part of this whole thing is that my kids were better, but then I came down with a stomach bug which was being passed around the office. So needless to say it has been a long week, but we are getting better.
